Catalog Description: This class includes an introduction to the health care field and health records with emphasis on the roles of health professionals, functions of the health information department, content and analysis of health records in a variety of health care settings, and storage and retrieval of health information and common registries. Prerequisite: Admission to HIT program or departmental consent. Co-requisite: HR 100 *This class has a final proctored exam.
